For those of you who may have read The Age or Sydney Morning Herald on Friday just gone may have noticed a little paragraph or two about the upcoming promotion this summer. It was tucked in at the end of an article on the last sports pages. It’s true, Mr Warne will be replacing Boony and Beefy as the VB ambassador for this summer’s cricket season. We’re sad to see Boony (and Beefy) go but all good things must end at some point. Keep it locked here for more…
We attended the APPA Pyramid Awards 2007 last night at the rather impressive Palace Ball Room at the Regent Theater on Collins Street. I think everyone here missed the note about a ‘blue theme’, it seemed we were the only table in the entire room that didn’t have blue on. We did make up for it today though, some people around here look a little blue in the face! Must have been all that red water they kept serving us.
Anyway, the awards were handed out very briskly this year. We took out 2 pyramids again only this time there was no platinum. Boony and Beefy were out done by some red nosed wombats. Come to think of it, there weren’t many awards handed out that didn’t end up in wombat paws.
Well done guys! You know who you are.
Well done to the guys here as well for our 2007 pyramids:
Bronze - HP ‘Back To Work’
Gold - VB ‘Boonanza - Battle of the Tashes’

We received this letter from APPA today. Has Boony done it again? Guess we’ll have to wait until Spetember to find out.

We know the cricket is all over and Boony and Beefy have stopped their chatter, but we thought some avid fans might like to see who could have been Boony’s partner in this years Ashes Campaign. Read more »

Now that the summer of cricket is over (even though we’re still shell shocked that the English are going home with a trophy), its time for Boony and Beefy to move over and surrender their talking antics to a “Talking Toilet Babe”. Read more »

The official launch of Boonanza 2 - The Battle of the Tashes started today with the announcement of Boony’s return and the premier of his mate, Ian “Beefy” Botham. Along with the usual commentary team, this year’s Ashes Series and VB One Day matches between the Aussies and the Poms will host special comments from Boony and Beefy in the Battle of the Tashes!
In an extension to the technology used last year that had Boony responding to broadcast pings during the VB One Day Series, Boony and Beefy will be at each other’s throats during the heated matches exchanging remarks. The interactive technology used in the figurines we produced this year has been refined to feed off each other. You’ll be sure to hear Beefy respond to anything Boony gives out. There are also push button features on this one as well as power up and power down options just in case you didn’t want to hear them exchanging comments in the early hours of the morning.
We know the Poms have been pretty smug about their triumph last year, but with Boony padding up again in his promotional best for VB, the team will have a 13th man to help them make sure the Ashes are returned to their rightful place Down Under. More at Boony is Back
Alright the line up is out for this year’s talking dolls. Who’s Boony’s mate gonna be in this year’s version of Boonanza?
More info at Boony’s Back. You can cast your vote on our very own poll. The suspects for Boony’s mate this season are: (from left to right) Viv, Barnesy, Bob Hawke, Botham, Her Majesty the Queen, Richie, Hadlee, Margaret Thatcher and Big Merv.
Its official, Boony, Boonanza and talking figurines are set to make a comeback for this year’s cricket. Accure have been involved with his resurrection that was announced by Foster’s a short while ago in the Sydney Morning Herald
While many would argue Boony never died, this return has more to it than just an upgrade to the batteries. Check our Boony’s Back portal for all the goss as it unfolds…

Over the weekend, Michael, Donnie, Paps and Gregg donned the slick threads and headed north. Now you may be wondering what these Melbourne bred boys were doing up in the harbour town, (I think some of the guys were wondering the same thing Sunday morning after a few bevvys), but aside from the partying, the main reason was to attend the APPA Sapphire Winter Show 2006 held at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre. Well, looks like Boony is rolling in the awards quicker than the man himself can down the VB’s. It wasn’t the Grand Prix award (which by the way, went to VW’s “FAST” campaign) but a Promo Lion at Cannes for Goerge Patterson Y&R adds another very respectable notch to the Boonanza belt. Read more »
