VB Stubby Symphony
Check out the latest VB ad - Stubby Symphony. Clever execution but what will the purist think of the softer tone to this “Blue” anthem?

Brandslappers
Apologies for the silence lately, but we’ve been extremely busy working away on a number of projects but hopefully we’re back on track with some regular posts.

Inspired by a term that’s being thrown around with it’s fair share of negative light in the promotional products industry and an upcoming self promotion campaign, we thought we’d do something. We set up brandslappers.com. And by set up we mean that we’ve registered the domain name, uploaded an image, set up a basic inbox and written this post. We still don’t know what the hell we’re going to do with it. The term brandslapper has a good ring to it though, maybe we should change our whole company name to brandslappers. If you have any ideas, we’d love to hear them or read them…

Joost
What’s Joost? I hear you ask. Well first of all, it’s pronounced ‘juiced’ and not ‘Yoest” as my Dutch friend with the same name and I would have thought. Joost is an interactive software for distributing TV shows and other forms of video over the web using peer-to-peer TV technology. It’s near TV quality video streaming to a PC or Mac. Read more »

hoyts Mobot billboards
We were at the Innovate 07 expo put together by outdoor specialists JCDecaux last week. The expo showcased some of the current formats and trends in billboard and outdoor advertising. There were some interesting concepts incorporating the use of MMS and bluetooth technology that adds an element of interactivity to the static billboard. Read more »

Google Earth Billboards
I’ve been a fan of Google Earth since it was introduced, I don’t know the precise reason, but theres a lot to be said for flying in and out of cities around the world like a superhero. It makes you feel all conquering (even if they’re merely satelite images). The business model for Google Earth however leaves me curious. Is it a tool for Google to dissemate information to the masses? Or is it perhaps just another ‘information capture’ application to help Google better match and deliver contextual advertising. The EcoHanger
Who doesn’t hate the wire hangers? Now that I’ve discovered that somehow about 3.5 billion of these ugly, non-biodegradable hangers end up in land fill every year, I even more motivated to seek an alternative. Read more »

Branding by ZAG
When everybody zigs, zag. This is what Marty Neumeier had to say about brands in his short, manifesto-like book “ZAG - The #1 Strategy of High Performance Brands”. Sound interesting? I haven’t read it yet but judging by whats on Zagbook, I’m eager to get a copy. Read more »

There are some interesting billboards out there, but generally its not a medium you can get too engaging with. They’re big, seen by many and parades our “hit-centric” culture. But just as its all starting to blur into a white cloud, along comes Mini Cooper and their “Talking Billboards”. First things first though, they don’t actually talk like say Boony would, but they do spit out personalised messages to a legion of Mini drivers on the road. Read more »

It’s that time of year. Even if you don’t do the whole religous thing, its a time to focus on loved ones and perhaps give a little. We like to support good causes where we can at Accure, but this post is to give kudos to another company doing something good during this silly season. Read more »

BMW 1 Series

The term subway is not really used here in Melbourne or Australia, most of our trains run above ground. The closest thing - the City Loop, a four stop ring that in my opinion doesn’t run frequent enough or cover as much as the CBD to warrant what I’d call an efficient system (if you’ve ever been on Hong Kong’s MTR, you’d know what I mean). In major urban hubs like NY, Tokyo and HK however, the subway is a part of everyday life and with a little innovative technology, things just got a little more interesting. Read more »
