Warnie launch
It’s official, Warnie will grace the living rooms of cricket lovers across the nation this summer for VB, taking off where Boony and Beefy ended. Being a little fussy about where he sits though, Warnie has decided to bring his own VB couch from where he will interact with the TV broadcast of the One Day International Series and give you his take on things. “Bowl Warnie!!”

There’s a lot more to come but for now you can register your interest at the VB Warnie website. Stay tuned or check after the jump for more launch images.

I have replaced the batteries in this beautifully crafted figurine BUT how do I rewind or reactivate the voice box.
If it dies never to speak again, why bother to make such a detailed and complex figure? If you are going to tell me Warnie will never speak again, should I remove all batteries to preserve his integrity and just leave him on the mantlepiece? Suzanne

PS. I have been on a round robin trying to ask the question of How to stir up my Warnie Figurines to talk to me again. I’ve phoned Fosters,(zilch) phoned Marketing at VB,(zilch) been into Warnie Blogs (zilch)and finally I found you the designers/makers/promotion brains because no-one seems to know the answer to make a Warnie talk once again. Hi Suzanne,

I’m afraid that Warnie’s comments were driven by a timer built around the 2007 calendar. Unfortunately, I don’t think you’ll be able to rewind without some sort of re-wiring. Don’t ask me how to do that but perhaps this thread http://mrspeaker.webeisteddfod.com/2006/02/02/reverse-boonjaneering/ can shed some light on how to do it. It relates to the original Boony dolls but I’m sure some of the more tech gurus could show you how it can be done on the Warnie dolls as well. Of course there are no guarantees that mods won’t destroy your Warnie or your fingers. Best to speak with someone who knows loads about electrical engineering.

Hey Donnie,
Is Warnie making a return to our living room this year or is the Doll era over?
TIA

Hey Molly,

Sadly, the doll era has come to an end…At least for now.
