IMified
I’m a compulsive scribbler and note taker, I like lists and sometimes I get so consumed with an idea that other things (still important) seem to fade into oblivion. Well you could imagine my delight when I came across IMified via Solution Watch Imified is a new service that enables users to access services like Basecamp, Google Calendar, and Wordpress from their instant messaging client. With this application, I can manage to-do lists, save notes, create reminders, and even publish a post to Wordpress for Carpark. I’m quite thrilled with it but not everyone shares my excitement around the office.

Another aspect that caught my attention was the sign up process. Simple and quick and to be true to itself, no need to fire up your browser and navigae to a sign-up page, brilliant!

Send a quick hello to IMified (AIM, Yahoo, MSN, Gtalk, and Jabber are all supported) and an account is instantly created for you with preset with three IMified applications: Notes, Reminders, and To-dos. The whole process works on sending the numbers associated with each menu item to navigate and create your notes, lists etc. The only time you have to visit an external web page is when you actually want to add the extra services. Currently these are: Google Calendar, Backpack, Basecamp, 30 Boxes, Remember the Milk, WordPress, Blogger, Movable Type and TypePad.

Apart from the standard IMified application, Google Calendar and Wordpress, I don’t really use the others, but because my Blackberry has been integrated with a mobile Yahoo Messenger, IMified is arguably keeping me productive while I’m in transit from place to place. Who says Instant Messaging is unproductive?
