Branding by ZAG
When everybody zigs, zag. This is what Marty Neumeier had to say about brands in his short, manifesto-like book “ZAG - The #1 Strategy of High Performance Brands”. Sound interesting? I haven’t read it yet but judging by whats on Zagbook, I’m eager to get a copy.

A passage in Marty’s little e-book:

…If a brand is a customer’s gut feeling, then whats the definition of branding? Briefly, its a company’s effort to build lasting value by delighting customers…

This resonated strongly. As much as we deal with logos and the physical branding of products for our clients, we’ve held the notion that in order for our clients to excite and inspire their customers, the interpretation of their brand is what really counts and captivates attention. The products are a means to spark that delightful interpretation.

It seems this book is full of wholesome marketing nuggets and for those who process images more efficiently, Marty includes a simple and unique interpretation of core marketing principles:

Marketing by ZAG
Advertising by ZAG
Branding by ZAG
PR by ZAG

I think we can add to these. How about a “Blog” panel - “To be completely frank, I’m all about being a great lover. Is it really that hard? I don’t think so…”

Get the book, I think its a winner.
