It’s that time of year. Even if you don’t do the whole religous thing, its a time to focus on loved ones and perhaps give a little. We like to support good causes where we can at Accure, but this post is to give kudos to another company doing something good during this silly season.

Realestate.com.au have merged the idea of giving with a buzz campaign of massive proportions. The Aussie real estate portal have purchased what is believed to be the largest billboard in the Southern hemisphere to put out this message:

realestate.com.au/do_something_big_for_kids

The original idea was to try and rack up 100,000 hits for realestate.com.au following which they would donate the remainder of air time for the giant billboard to the NSW Department of Community Services (DoCS), who will have free reign for the rest of the booking. DoCS will use the outdoor space to launch its pre-Christmas foster care campaign, aimed at finding homes for up to 200 children who would otherwise be on the streets.

We were probably a little late in posting about this. If you visit the site now, you will discover that the hits to the site was about 20,000 shy of the target. Nonetheless, realestate.com.au still did their bit and honoured the second half of the deal. Nice one!
